Reasons:
1. He will not want to give his constituents the satisfaction of voting him out.
2. He knows he would be wasting his or the Democrats' money.
3. MAYBE he will not be willing to have ACORN stack the ballot box in his favor. (If he does run that is probably how he MIGHT win.)

I've been wondering what all he got and/or what secret or not-so-secret threats he received.
Nebraska will not ever have to fund the Medicaid program is one sure perk, but there are other rumors that Nelson denies. But then he also denied any "deals" made so he is obviously a liar.
Heard today that there were perks for Mutual of Omaha and Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Nebraska too.
