They are all nice kids really, on their way to homecoming. The guys are all quite dapper in their dark long sleeve dress shirts and matching trousers accented with bright ties and boutonnieres. The girls look pretty dowdy in their strapless attire reaching just past their rears exposing a vast array of pudgy arms and legs. They are all caught up in the curse of high school culture - conformity. I don't know whether to be angry or sad.

This is so true even in homeschool and/or Christian circles. The last ball Amy went to was slightly better overall, but I'm still amazed at what the girls show up in despite the admonition to dress modestly. Apparently, no one knows exactly what modest means anymore.
Sad, methinks. Very sad.
