I don't know why ice cream stores don't have malts on the menu any more. You have to be satisfied with the "plain Jane" shake.
My favorite ice cream treat was the malt. It was a milk shake with malt powder added before it was mixed. Malt added the flavor you can find in Whoppers or malted milk balls. I am not sure, but I think it also added extra foaminess. Oh how I would like to savor a chocolate malt again!

Guess what! We went to DQ last night and they have malts on the menu. My lament will have to be taken back.
