Distractions

I've been in the kitchen all day baking. It was hard to keep my focus because there was bird mania going on in the back yard. I wonder if bad weather is on the way. There has been at least a dozen or more gold finches, that many house finches, a few sparrows, a half dozen blue jays, that many robins, a large red headed woodpecker, some juncos and chickadees all vying for two bird feeders while our fat squirrel hogged the other bird feeder. There could have been the two kinds of nuthatches, but I didn't actually see them. (I was busy!) Thankfully, we put out the heated bird bath and have yet to see any crows. It always makes me marvel at what God has made.

P.S. I forgot about our resident cardinals. They too participated in the frenzy. Later I did see both the red breasted and white breasted nuthatches and a smaller type of woodpecker.
